Engaging for Impact Training

Our Engaging for Impact Training builds practical capability in stakeholder and community engagement, going beyond theory to focus on what actually happens in real conversations.

OUR SERVICES

At Engagement Manager, we believe the best way to build confidence in engagement is through practice…not just theory.

Because no matter how strong the plan is, engagement ultimately happens in real conversations, with real people.

That’s why our Engaging for Impact Training is designed specifically for government, not-for-profits and corporate organisations, we combine practical learning with real-world application across three key areas. Module 1 builds the plan, Module 2 helps you understand what’s happening in the room and Module 3 shows you what to do when it happens.

What Makes This Different

Most engagement training focuses on frameworks.

We focus on what happens when engagement becomes real, when conversations shift, emotions rise, and things don’t go to plan.

Our approach is grounded in real experience working with councils, communities and complex projects.

Participants don’t just learn the principles of engagement they build the skills to apply them in real-world situations.

Why Choose Engagement Manager for Engagement Training?

Module 1: Writing Engagement Plans That Work

Build a clear, practical engagement plan.

Participants bring a real project they are working on, and use this as the foundation to:

  •   identify stakeholders

  •  select appropriate engagement methods

  •  structure a clear and practical engagement plan

>By the end of the session, participants have started developing a plan tailored to their project and ready to refine and put into action.

Module 2: The Human Side of Engagement

Understand what’s happening in the room.

This module focuses on the part of engagement that isn’t always written into the plan:

  • why people react the way they do

  • how to read the room

  • emotional intelligence in engagement

  • how to observe rather than absorb

  • what drives difficult conversations

> Builds awareness and confidence when engagement becomes challenging

Module 3: Conversations to Connections

Learn what to do in the moment.

This module focuses on how to handle real engagement situations as they happen:

  • managing conflict and tension

  • responding to challenging stakeholders

  • using practical language to guide conversations

  • creating safe and constructive environments

  • navigating power and political dynamics

>This is where understanding turns into action.
